Sacramento Residential Garbage Collection

Residential trash will be picked up every week in Sacramento. To ensure your garbage collection, place your trash container outside by 6 AM on your scheduled collection day. Do not overfill your trash cart; only close the lid and place the cart outside for collection to reduce litter in the street.

If you have a lot of garbage, crush and flatten the material in the cart to create more space. Do not place your trash cart behind obstacles such as poles, mailboxes, vehicles, or bike parking lines. Do not mix recycling and yard waste with residential garbage; recycling and yard waste collection services will be provided separately.

Sacramento Recycling Collection Schedule

Household Hazardous Collection

Household hazardous materials include paint, cleaners, oil, batteries, and pesticides that contain harmful chemicals.
