Find Your Collection Day

Garbage Collections

According to the laws of the City of Allen, garbage carts will be serviced every week. Place all garbage into your issued trash cart and place it at the curbside by 7 AM on your collection day. Similarly, roll your cart back as soon as possible after collection. To reduce litter, ensure the cart has a closed lid. Avoid overfilling the garbage cart.

Place your cart at the edge of the street in front of your property. Ensure the cart is positioned so that its lid faces the street, making it easy for the automatic collection truck to collect. Leave a clearance of 5 feet on all sides of the cart. Do not block sidewalks, and keep the cart away from obstacles such as mailboxes, poles, and parked cars.

Recycling Collections

Recycling services are provided to residents once every two weeks. To ensure your recycling collection, check your recycling calendar and place your recycling cart at the curbside by 7 AM. Place all recycling materials loosely in the recycling cart. Do not place plastic bags in the cart, as they slow down the recycling process and cause problems.

Acceptable recycling materials include mixed paper, flattened cardboard, plastic bottles, plastic containers (with numbers 1 to 7), metal boxes, food boxes, aluminum cans, tin cans, glass bottles, and jars. Place only empty, clean, and dry items in recycling containers to reduce spillage. If the collection crew finds any irrelevant material in the recycling cart, they will leave your container, which may lead to missed collection.

Missed Trash Collections

Sometimes your trash carts may be missed during collection. Missed collections can cause inconveniences such as dealing with trash until the next collection. Fortunately, residents have a solution to this issue. You can report missed trash collections by calling Community Waste Disposal at 972-392-9300. Once reported, your trash will be recollected on the next business day.

Bulk Items Collection

Bulk trash includes materials that cannot fit into your residential trash cart. Residents are allowed one bulk trash pickup trip every month. Place all bulk trash at the curbside by 7 AM on your scheduled collection day. Bulk trash will always be collected on the assigned Saturday of the month. Place your bulk trash at the edge of the street in front of your property.

Acceptable bulk trash includes broken furniture, mattresses, home appliances, box springs, televisions, toys, washing machines, dryers, water heaters, and yard tools. Do not include construction debris in your bulk trash pile, as your bulk trash will not be serviced. If you have a large amount of bulk trash, Community Waste Disposal offers special bulk pickup services. You can schedule a special pickup by calling 972-392-9300.

Yard Waste Collections

Community Waste Disposal provides yard trash collection both monthly and weekly. They offer weekly yard pickup services on your garbage collection day. Acceptable items for weekly curbside collection include sticks and brush trimmings in 4-foot-by-2-foot bundles, tied with biodegradable cotton/jute rope, twine, or string, weighing less than 40 pounds.

Community Waste Disposal also provides monthly yard waste collection services. To take advantage of these services, residents must call Community Waste Disposal at 972-392-9300 to schedule a pickup a day before their normal collection day. Acceptable materials for monthly yard collection include large loose brush, tree limbs, branches, and other large brush.
