Bromley is a large town in Greater London, England, and the main district of the London Borough of Bromley. The Bromley Council provides curbside trash collection services to residents. Trash is collected on a weekly and monthly basis according to the Bromley Bin Collection Schedule. The council also provides trash bins to help residents manage household waste. To ensure effective bin collections, the Bromley Council relies on residents’ cooperation in following the trash rules to maintain a clean and healthy environment.

Bromley Waste Collections
The City of Bromley provides household trash collection services once a week according to the Bromley Bin Collection Schedule. Place all household trash in the bin and set it at the curbside by 7 AM on your scheduled collection day. Ensure that the waste is securely packed into the bin, as trash coming out of the bin will result in missed collection. To avoid this, do not overfill your trash bin and only place bins with closed lids at the curbside to reduce litter.
For safe collection, pack all household waste into refuse sacks before placing them in the bin. Position your bin in a visible location that is easily accessible to the collection truck. When placing your bin, leave a clearance of 3 feet on both sides to allow the hydraulic arm to work efficiently.
Bromley Recycling Guidelines
Recycling services are provided according to the Bromley Bin Collection Schedule. Place your recycling bin at the curbside by 7 AM on your scheduled collection day. Position the bin at the edge of the street in front of your property. Only dry, clean, and empty materials should be placed in the recycling bin to reduce litter and spillage. Ensure that all items are placed loosely in the bin, as plastic bags are not allowed, as they slow down the recycling process.
Acceptable recycling materials include paper and cardboard (e.g., cardboard tubes, junk mail, leaflets, paper bags, paperback books), food materials (e.g., tea bags, coffee grounds, plate scrapings, pet food), and other items such as plastic, glass, cans, and tin. Do not place prohibited items in the recycling bin, as bins containing prohibited materials will not be collected.

Heavy or Bulky Waste Collection
Bulk or heavy trash includes items such as furniture, mattresses, and home appliances, which require special handling. Residents are encouraged to donate these items if they are in good condition. If the items are broken, residents can bring them to a transfer station or schedule a bulk collection service through an online portal. Click the link below to schedule a bulk collection.
Schedule a Bulk Collection (bromley.gov.uk)
The minimum charge for bulk trash collection is £40. Residents can view a list of acceptable bulk materials and the associated fees. After paying the fee, the collection contractor will contact you to schedule a heavy trash collection day within the next 10 business days. Once confirmed, place all bulk trash at the curbside by 7 AM on your collection day.
Bank Holiday Collection Schedule
There will be delays in normal trash collection services during bank holiday weeks. The Bromley Bin Collection Schedule will be adjusted, and trash collection will be delayed by one day for each holiday. For example, if your normal collection day is Monday and there is a bank holiday on that day, your trash will be collected on Tuesday. These delays will continue throughout the week. Refer to the schedule below to ensure your bin is collected during holiday weeks.
