Garbage Collection

According to the Brunswick Garbage Collection Schedule, place your cart at the curbside by 7 AM on your scheduled collection day. Your trash carts will be serviced from 8 AM to 8 PM. Remove your cart from the curb by 8 PM on the day of collection. Residents are required to follow some instructions while placing their carts at the curbside, such as placing the cart at the edge of the street in front of your property.

Do not block sidewalks when placing your cart, as it could cause problems for people who use wheelchairs. Place your cart so that its lid opens towards the front of the street. Do not overfill the trash cart, and place only closed-lid carts at the curbside to reduce litter in the street. When placing your cart at the curbside, leave a clearance of 6 feet on both sides of the cart. Ensure your cart is in an obstacle-free area.

Recycling Collection

Your recycling carts will also be serviced along with your normal garbage. Place all recyclable materials into a county-issued recycling container and place this container at the curbside by 7 AM on your scheduled collection day. Put all recycling trash loosely into carts. Do not add any plastic bags into the recycling cart, as plastic bags slow down the recycling process and cause problems. Moreover, place only empty, clean, and dry materials into the recycling cart.

Acceptable recycling materials include aluminum cans, tin cans, metal, paper, plastic bottles, plastic containers, glass bottles and jars, and flattened cardboard. Do not put any irrelevant materials into the recycling cart. If you place contaminants or construction debris into recycling carts, it will result in missed recycling collection. Roll your cart back as soon as possible after your cart has been collected.

Report Missed Collection

Sometimes you may experience a situation where your trash is missed during collection. There could be many reasons behind this missed collection. To report this problem, you can call 910-253-2520. Once you report a missed collection, the sanitation department will collect your trash on the next business day.

Order a New Cart

If you have a large amount of trash that cannot fit into one cart, residents are not allowed to place trash next to trash carts. In this situation, residents can order a new cart. Click the link below to order a new trash and recycling cart to manage your extra trash.
