Holly Springs Garbage Collection Time

Residential trash will be collected weekly. Check your trash schedule and place your trash carts at curbside by 7 AM on your designated day for garbage collection. Place your cart so that its lid faces the front of the street. Moreover, while placing the cart, keep a distance of at least 5 feet between the trash cart and the closest obstacles, such as mailboxes and poles.

Only place relevant material into residential garbage trash carts. Do not place any dirt, yard debris, or household hazardous materials into your residential trash carts; otherwise, your trash cart will not be serviced. Roll your trash back as soon as possible when your trash gets collected.

Holly Springs Recycling Collection Time

Recycling trash will be picked up once every two weeks. Make sure to put your recycling carts outside by 7 AM on your assigned week for recycling collection. Only place clean, dry, and empty materials in the recycling trash cart. Avoid putting any plastic bags in the recycling cart, as they are not recyclable and can create issues during the recycling process.

Holly Springs Bulk Trash Schedule

If you are doing spring cleaning and have a lot of trash material that could not fit into your regular trash carts, the city will facilitate you to dispose of this type of material. These large trash materials are known as bulk trash and include large household appliances, grills, printers, exercise equipment, children’s toys, and chairs.

To arrange a special pickup for these types of trash materials, you can call the town at 311 or (919)-577-3111. The city will only pick up one large home appliance per collection, and the material should not exceed 50 pounds in weight.

If you have larger trash items like refrigerators, washers, or dryers that require special handling and weigh more than 50 pounds, the city will charge an additional fee in advance. The fee will be based on the size and weight of the material.

Once your bulk pickup is confirmed, place all bulk trash in front of your property at the edge of the street. Avoid placing mattresses, sofa beds, box springs, and construction materials alongside your large trash items, as these are not acceptable. Take all these materials to the South Wake Landfill to dispose of them properly.

Yard Waste Collection

Yard waste includes lawn clippings, leaves, tree limbs, and other yard materials. The city provides yard waste carts to its citizens to keep yard waste separate from residential and recycling trash. Do not place dirt, mulch, construction debris, or concrete rocks in your yard waste cart, as these items will not be serviced.

Place all leaves, grass, and lawn clippings directly into the trash cart. Do not tie tree branches into bundles; instead, place them directly into a brown trash cart. Do not overfill your yard trash cart; only place it outside with a closed lid. If you prefer to dispose of yard waste yourself, you can bring it to the Yard Convenience Center.

Household Hazardous Drop-Off

The city will also provide its citizens with household hazardous materials disposal facilities. Household hazardous trash includes household rechargeable batteries, gasoline, diesel fuel, aerosols, fire extinguishers, gas cylinders, propane tanks, lawn, garden, and pool items. If you have this type of trash, you can bring it to the following drop-off stations for safe disposal:

  • North Wake Household Hazardous Waste Facility: 9037 Deponie Drive, Raleigh, NC 27614. The working hours of this site are from Monday to Saturday between 8 AM and 4 PM. Only Wake County residents can bring their trash to this site.
  • South Wake Household Hazardous Waste Facility: 6150 Old Smithfield Road, Apex, NC 27539. It is open from Monday to Saturday between 8 AM and 4 PM for Wake County residents only.
  • East Wake Household Hazardous Waste Facility: 5051 Wendell Blvd, Wendell, NC 27591. It is open only on Saturdays and Sundays between 8 AM and 4 PM for Wake County residents only.
