Simply place your trash cart outside before 6:00AM on your trash pickup day. Place all carts keeping distance of 3 feet from other carts and all curb items such as poles and mailboxes. Similarly keep a distance of 6 feet from your vehicles and other large objects. Once your trash carts get collected, remove them from the curb within 12 hours.

According to city recycling services, recyclable material only includes paper, cardboard, tin containers, steel containers, plastic and glass containers and small scrap materials. So do not put any other material into recycling trash which is not recyclable.

Do not put any plastic bags into recycling carts and make sure, all materials are empty, clean and dry that you are going to put into recycling carts.

Food waste recycling program

Food waste recycling program is incorporated into state domestic law. So you are obligated to put all food waste into a green recycling cart along with green waste. Republic services containment auditor will be responsible to inspect green recycling carts in your streets. If they found un-accepted recycling material in a green cart, they will be fined for it.

Do not put any regular plastic bags along with organic trash into green recycling carts because they are not compostable, only BPI certified compostable bags are allowed.

Bulky Item Pickup Program (3 Per Year)

You can book 3 bulk pickup appointments annually. If you want to get an appointment, you can call at 916.638.9000 to schedule your bulk pick up day before you pile. Place all bulk material outside by 6:00AM on your scheduled day and your bulk pile must not exceed more than 10 cubic yards.

Do not place bulk items on gutters and electric meters, do not block sidewalks as well. Place all material at the distance of 6 feet from large items such as cars and 3 feet from trash carts so that they will not disturb the collection process. Place only those items which are mentioned in the bulk acceptable items list.

Household Hazardous Waste Schedule

There are four drop off stations where household hazardous waste is accepted for recycling. Accepted materials include batteries, fluorescent bulbs & tubes, used oil/filters, paint, pesticides and cleaning products. These recycling services are free of cost for Rancho Cordova citizens. Free pick up services

Medical sharps

Home generated sharps are freely collected by the waste management authority. You have to make an appointment on  916.638.9000. If you want to dispose of home generated sharps. Put all sharp material into an approved sharp container and leave the closed lid container outside for pick up.

Curbside Collection Of Used Motor Oil & Filters

City waste management authority will collect used motors oil and filter with no additional charges. Maximum three gallons are accepted on one pick up. Put all oil into containers provided by republic services. You can also use a plastic jug for this purpose. Securely close the lid of the container, you are using to place oil on the curbside.

Pancho cordova observes some national holidays that may disturb your trash pick up schedule. There are only two holidays that may shift your trash collection schedule by one day;
