Garbage Collections

Regular garbage will be collected once a week according to the San Angelo Trash Schedule. Place your cart at the curbside by 6 AM on your scheduled collection day. Position your cart so that the lid opens toward the front of the street, and ensure that the cart has handles so that it can be easily collected by automatic trash collection trucks.

Place your cart at the edge of your property in an obstacle-free area, and do not overfill it. Only use carts with closed lids. Leave a clearance of 3 feet on both sides of the cart. After your garbage is collected, remove the cart from the curb as soon as possible.

Recycling Collections

Recycling carts will be collected on the same day as your regular garbage collection. The San Angelo Trash Schedule promotes recycling to reduce the use of natural resources. Place your recycling cart at the curbside by 6 AM on your scheduled collection day. Ensure that all recycling materials are placed loosely in the cart, and do not include plastic bags as they slow down the recycling process. Only place empty, clean, and dry items in your recycling cart.

Acceptable recycling materials include flattened corrugated cardboard, boxboard, cereal and frozen food boxes, and plastics numbered 1 and 2. Plastic #1 includes soda and water bottles, mouthwash bottles, peanut butter containers, salad dressing, and vegetable oil containers (clean them briefly before recycling). Plastic #2 includes milk jugs, juice bottles, bleach and detergent bottles, household cleaner bottles, and shampoo bottles. Steel, tin, and aluminum cans, as well as empty aerosol cans, are also accepted. Do not include glass or Styrofoam in your recycling cart.

Bulk Items Collections

Bulk trash will be collected once a week on the same day as your recycling collection according to the San Angelo Trash Schedule. Place your bulk trash by 6 AM on your scheduled collection day, piling it in front of your property. Do not place construction debris or hazardous household trash in your bulk pile, and make sure bulk trash is not within your personal property, as the collection crew will not enter personal property to collect bulk trash.

Acceptable bulk materials include furniture, appliances, mattresses, barbecue grills (without propane tanks), toilets, carpeting, fencing, wooden pallets, bags of yard waste (up to 15 bags), brush and limbs (cut and bundled in lengths of no more than 4 feet), and flat-screen TVs. Irrelevant materials in your bulk pile may result in missed collection.

Holidays Collection Schedule

Certain holidays will affect the normal San Angelo Trash Schedule. If a holiday falls on your regular trash collection day, the collection will be delayed by one day. For example, if a holiday falls on Monday, trash collection will be delayed until Tuesday. This delay will affect the entire week, so place your cart according to the revised schedule to ensure your trash is collected during holiday weeks.
