Garbage Collection

According to the Southlake Trash Schedule, your normal residential garbage will be collected twice a week. Place your cart at the curbside by 7 AM on your scheduled collection day. Your garbage cart will be manually collected from 7 AM to 7 PM, so ensure your cart is placed on time to guarantee garbage collection. Roll your cart back as soon as possible after it has been collected.

Place your cart so that its lid faces the street front and the wheels face the back. Only place a cart with a closed lid at the curbside to reduce litter. Ensure that your cart is placed in a location free from obstacles, such as parked cars, poles, mailboxes, and other carts. Leave a distance of 3 feet from other carts and 6 feet from static obstacles when placing your cart at the curbside.

Recycling Collection

Your recycling cart will be collected once a week. To ensure collection according to the Southlake Trash Schedule, place your cart at the curbside by 7 AM on your designated day. Do not place contaminants or plastic bags into recycling carts, as these materials cause problems in the recycling process and result in delays.

Acceptable recycling materials include paper, mixed paper, newspapers, plastic containers, plastic bottles, aluminum cans, tin, steel jars, food boxes, cardboard, and glass bottles. Place only empty, clean, and dry food boxes into recycling carts. Do not add any irrelevant material into the cart; otherwise, it will not be serviced.

Bulk and Brush Collection

Your bulk trash and brush will be collected on your residential garbage collection day, twice a week, as part of the Southlake Garbage Schedule. Residents are allowed to place bulk trash weighing up to 150 pounds and brush bundles weighing up to 50 pounds each for a single collection. For yard waste, you can place up to 2 cubic yards for collection per week.

Bulk trash includes broken furniture, mattresses, toys, yard tools, fence panels no longer than 4 x 5 feet, washing machines, dryers, water heaters, home appliances, refrigerators, and carpets. Roll the carpet to a length of 4 feet before placing it at the curbside for collection.

For brush collection, cut all branches to a length of 6 feet and a diameter of 2 inches, and tie them into bundles. Place the bundles at the curbside along with your other trash on your scheduled collection day. You can place an unlimited number of tied bundles at the curbside, but each must weigh no more than 50 pounds.

Household Hazardous Waste Disposal

Household hazardous materials are those that could be dangerous if stored at home. Southlake provides a collection service for household hazardous materials (HHW). If you have HHW and want to dispose of it, call CWD at 972-392-9300 to schedule a pickup.

Once you call, they will send you an email with HHW set-out instructions. Prepare your materials according to the instructions provided and place them at the curbside by 7 AM on your scheduled collection day.

Holidays Collection Schedule

Your normal trash collection will be postponed by one day if you observe the following holidays.
