Fort Worth Garbage Collection Schedule

In Fort Worth, the Texas government will pick up your trash from brown carts once a week. Check the link given below to get your trash collection schedule according to your location in Fort Worth city:

You will have to place your trash carts on curbsides by 7 AM on your scheduled day. Collection of trash will take place between 7 AM to 7 PM from Monday to Friday. Do place your carts on the curbside after 6 PM before the scheduled day, and make sure to bring it back by midnight on the trash collection day.

There are some rules and regulations you must follow for garbage pickup:

  • Make sure to put bagged garbage in brown carts.
  • Close the lids of carts tightly.
  • Avoid overfilling carts; it may be subject to a fine.
  • Do not leave bags outside the carts; these may also be subject to a fine.
  • Place carts in a way that the cart handles face your house, and the serial number of carts face the street.
  • Place your carts at a distance of some inches from the street edge; do not place the cart in a way.
  • Make sure that you’re leaving your carts in front of your residential address for trash collection.

Fort Worth Bulk Waste Collection

Trash which is too large and bulky and unable to fit in a brown cart will be provided monthly collection in Fort Worth. All the residents have to place their garbage on the curb before 7 AM on Monday of the assigned week.

  • Do not put leaves, grass, and tips of trees and other garbage consisting of yard trimmings in a plastic bag. These items should be set out in a paper yard bag for weekly collection.
  • Automobile parts, batteries, and tires are not included. Residents can dispose of four tires every six months at city drop-off stations.
  • Large garbage does not consist of contractor remodeling and demolition waste, e.g., lumber, wallboard.
  • Electronic products such as computers are not accepted. These items need to be dropped off at city drop-off stations.
  • No household appliances that consist of coolant and other chemicals like gasoline, including refrigerators and air conditioners. These items also need to be dropped off at city drop-off stations.
  • No dirt, rock, and debris containing ceramic tiles, no liquid poison, and explosive items are accepted.

Holiday Collection Schedule

Solid waste services will take care of your garbage collection, recycling, bulk item, and yard trash pickup.

Yard Trimmings

The trash consisting of shrubs and yard trimmings is not collected and dropped into the landfill; this material can be used to make items like mulch to preserve nature. Fort Worth residents may pick up free mulch at any of four drop-off stations. Remember! All carts must be placed at 7:00 AM on a scheduled day.

Rules for bagging yard trimmings:

  • Collection takes place from 7 AM to 7 PM, Monday – Friday. Don’t call before 7 PM to collect the missed trash on the assigned day.
  • Yard trimmings and brush are collected separately from garbage.
  • Yard trimmings and brushes can be taken to a facility where they are converted into mulch instead of destroying valuable natural resources.
  • The limit for yard waste is 40 pounds.
  • Roll the paper yard bag to close; don’t use tape or staple to close it.
  • There is no limit for paper yards to be set out.

Drop-Off Stations in Fort Worth

Residents of Fort Worth city enjoy the facility of a drop-off station where homeowners and even renters may drop their recyclable trash and household chemicals. To enjoy this facility, you must show your recent water bill from Fort Worth, your driver’s license, along with an appropriate home address to show that you are part of the city sanitation services.
