Garbage Collections

Place your garbage containers at the curbside by 6 PM on the evening before your collection day or by 4 AM on the morning of your designated collection day. Put your trash into plastic bags, then place these bags into garbage carts to reduce litter. Do not put garbage loosely into carts, as this can cause health problems for the collection crew and is also difficult to collect. Place only a closed-lid cart at the curbside.

Moreover, there are several residential trash guidelines that apply when placing carts at the curbside. Leave a distance of 3 feet on both sides of the cart. Place your cart in an obstacle-free area so that automatic collection trucks can easily pick it up. Each week, you can place up to 20 bags at the curbside for collection, so do not exceed this limit.

Recycling Collections

Your recycling cart will be serviced once every two weeks. Place your cart at the curbside by 6 PM the night before your collection day or by 6 AM on the morning of your scheduled collection day. Put all recyclable materials loosely into the recycling cart. Do not bag your recycling trash. Similarly, do not put any plastic bags into recycling carts, or your trash will not be collected.

Place only a closed-lid cart at the curbside, and ensure your trash material fits into the recycling cart. If material overflows from the trash cart, it will not be collected. It is necessary that your trash container is labeled with “MT LEBANON RECYCLING” stickers, which are available at the municipal building at 710 Washington Road.

Acceptable recycling materials include aluminum cans, corrugated cardboard, office paper, plastic types 1 & 2, steel cans, glass bottles, glass jars, phone books, paperback books, junk mail and envelopes, pizza boxes, boxboards, and food boxes. Do not add any contaminants or plastic bags into the recycling cart, or your cart will not be collected.
